Mark Carter, owner of The Metal Tank in Glendora, California, is a seasoned expert with over 40 years of experience riding, restoring and customizing vintage Husqvarna motorcycles. Renowned for his meticulous craftsmanship and unwavering passion for classic bikes, Mark has built a full-service shop that caters to motorcycle enthusiasts who demand excellence. Born and raised in the Pomona Valley, Mark was introduced to motorcycles at the age of 15 by his uncle, Ron Swanson, during family camping trips. 

Mark quickly took to the local racing circuit, regularly competing at the iconic Saddleback track in Orange County, CA. Inspired by world champion Brad Lackey, Mark sought to emulate his hero, while also looking up to legends like Tom Rapp and Jim Wilson, the latter of whom he still knows personally. 

Years later, Mark transformed his hobby into a business. In 1989, he restored a 450 Husqvarna, a pivotal moment that turned his passion into a career. While Mark works on all types of motorcycles, his expertise and interest lie in pre-1983 Husqvarna bikes—true "metal tank" machines that embody an era of craftsmanship and durability before metal tanks were phased out. One of his proudest projects includes a custom-frame C&J 400.

At "The Metal Tank," Mark specializes in comprehensive engine work, electrical systems, frame repair, paint and chrome restoration, and bespoke customizations. In 2014, Mark was featured in Season 4, Episodes 1 and 2 of Vegas Rat Rods for his expertise, passion, and skill in motorbikes.
